Some said they want to kill time and the jobs are very hard to find. Some are asked by their parents to pursue graduate studies without knowing what to do next afterward. The ecosystem to support a life science career path in Thailand is not that great, and it seems like supply and demand are not correlated. Job security is uncertain these days. This increases the prevalence of psychological illnesses.

The ecosystem to facilitate research productivity requires a lot of improvement. I am in an academic position but was previously evaluated by supportive staff. My performance is now being evaluated by two support and one academic staff members. I'm unsure if these two support staff members know how to create a conducive environment for research, especially how to facilitate the researcher's ability to produce one paper per year. Once, I used to attend the meeting where we all had to oversee whether the report was misspelled. It was totally nonsense in my opinion, and I proposed reducing this kind of meeting. Academic and support personnel have diverse perspectives on the larger context of research policy. EMBL-annual report -- Note to follow as a good model

https://www.embl.org/about/info/annual-report/ar2021 Report as .pdf:  https://www.embl.org/documents/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/annual-report-2021.pdf European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) - I like the clear outputs for each mission in EMBL, which include research, services, training, innovation and translation, integration, and operation. - In each mission, EMBL reported a major task that was completed in the year 2021. EMBL also showed the statistical report regarding each mission. The report is well-represented and easy to capture the information at a glance. -  I would take this report as a good model to improve the ecosystem that I am working with. The University wants to have a higher rank, but the ecosystem is not actually supporting that direction.
