Finding the research gap

Ref: https://guides.umd.umich.edu/c.php?g=529423&p=3621573

1. Be more specific on the research area -- what kind of research you are interested in?
2. Read a lot;
 - follow the research trails
-- starting with research articles and following who cites the articles
-- starting with authors and following who cites this author
- pay more attention to the introduction - to see why this research is important
- pay more attention to the suggestions and future research - to see what research question need to be answered
3. Making a mind map
-- start to raise the question and searching for the literature whether anyone has done the research and answer the same question if not --> this can be the research gap. Then, we can draw the hypothesis and start to do the research to answer whether the hypothesis is true.
