Four types of chemical interactions have been explained.

1.Van der Waals

2.Hydrogen bonds

3.Ionic interactions

4.Hydrophobic interaction

Comparing the strengths:

hydrophobic (varies)>hydrogen bonds~ionic interactions>Van der Waals

Distance (nm) for each bond type

1.Van der Waals -- 3-6 angstrom

2.Hydrogen bonds -- 3 angstrom (hydrogen vs strong electro negativity -- N,O)

3.Ionic interactions -- 2.5 angstrom

4.Hydrophobic interaction -- varies
