Note: PMU-ERC (how to write up the email to PI)

I applied this grant. There were 10 grants but being cut to 3 for 2024 fiscal year. I did not this grant for this year.

Two selection rounds;

1 - looking at CV

2 - contacting ERC receiving PI and draft the proposal together

Competition; all levels of research career.

PMU-ERC

Expectation

• 3 months to 1 year

• Learning lab who receive funding, perhaps getting grant together with the lab receiving ERC

How to contact

• Briefly present yourself, and your research projects

• Not going to much detail

• Main important

• Focus on the visit

• Potential research topics of mutual interests; better to start with ERC topic from PI

• Find the right time to visit; ERC starts at different time - must be sure that it is still active, and 

• Visit could be partially funded - PMU funded only travel, living and accommodation expenses, and salary

• Other might be covered by PI under ERC grants

• Duration of visit – average ~6 months

• During negotiation; be sure that during the visit the activities in the lab fit with your need

How to write the proposal

• แลกเปลี่ยน นักวิจัย เน้นเรื่อง frontier research เพื่อไปดูว่าเขาทำงานกันอย่างไรบ้าง

• Single visit ขั้นต่ำ 3 เดือน มากสุด 12 เดือน

• Multiple visit – ก็ได้ ก็ประมาณการค่าตั๋ว และคูณเอา และต้องเขียนเหตุผลให้ชัดเจน

• ส่งไปที่อีเมล์ก่อน แล้ว PMU จะ

• ส่วนที่ 3 ใส่แผนงาน ที่เราจะทำในยุโรป

• แผนแลกเปลี่ยน นักวิจัยของยุโรป ถ้ามีก็กรอกด้วย

• ผลงานในแต่ละช่วงเวลาหลังจากที่ได้ visit ในแต่ละช่วงเวลา

• งบจะกรอกได้แค่ งบดำเนินงาน ค่าใช้สอย ให้ใส่เป็นค่าประมาณการสำหรับตั๋วเครื่องบิน และอื่น ๆ ค่าใช้จ่ายรายเดือน อิงตามตารางที่เขาจะให้ อยู่ในรายงานซูม ค่า insurance 

• Output ก็กรอกมาว่าเป็นอะไรบ้างในแต่ละกิจกรรม

• Expected outcome เป็นสิ่งที่เกิดหลังจาก output 

• Letter of support ต้องเป็นจากมหาวิทยาลัย มาจาก รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัย เพราะเป็นสัญญาที่ทำในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย เลยต้องให้ระดับฮะิการเซ็น

• เกนการพิจารณา

• เป็น frontier research

• กิจกรรมเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง output มี impact หรือเปล่า และเป็นแบบไหน จะเน้นที่ output เป็นส่วนใหญ่

• แปลงเงินทุนเป็นบาทไทย

• ระยะเวลาสัญญา น่าจะเริ่ม 1 พ.ย. 66 - 31 ต.ค. 67 (1 พ.ย. 66 ต้องทำหลังจากเซ็นสัญญา) เร็วสุดของสัญญา คือ 1 ต.ค. 66 - 30 ก.ย. 67
